MPF2024: COMEDY STAGE

Make sure you head down to Sandbar on Sat and Sun of MPF2024 to check out the Comedy stage. Once again, Frootcake have pulled together an awesome line up compèred by the fabulous Red Redmond and Sully O’Sullivan.

HEADLINERS

Bethany Black

Britain’s only goth, lesbian, transgender comedian. Decidedly dark and deliciously different – a one-way ticket to a world you never knew existed. Despite being ‘unique’ she’s warm, chatty and has built a cult following for her brand of confessional comedy. She provides a sarcastic and dark view of the world’s taboo subjects in a neat PVC clad package.

Amy Gledhill

Amy performed at the first ever MPF Comedy Stage back in 2018. Since then Amy has shot to stardom. An award-nominated act who is now a BBC TV regular. We are so proud to have one of our favourite acts back to headline the last night of MPF.

Red Redmond is a non-binary Stand-Up Comedian, Drag Queen, Pantomime Actor and Live-Streamer with over 10 years experience. Hot off the heels of supporting the stars of Live At The Apollo and RuPaul’s Drag Race on tour. Sully O’Sullivan

Making his TV debut on New Zealand’s iconic ‘Pulp Comedy’, UK based Kiwi Comedian Sully O’Sullivan has gone on to become a veteran of the international circuit, performing professionally in Australasia, North America, Arabia, the British Isles and Europe.

James Meehan

A highly sought after stand-up comic who can close, open or compere. Eddie French

Eddie French is an award-winning non-binary comedian, improviser and podcaster with over 10 years experience. They have established themself as one of the most formidable acts on Yorkshire’s comedy circuit. Based in Leeds, Eddie has performed at 4 consecutive Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. They are the co-host of Punk Rock Elite podcast which has amassed over 10,000 downloads.

Tony Basnett

Originally from Hartlepool and now residing in Manchester Tony has taken the circuit by storm. Described as an upbeat and playful comic, Tony has been seen across the country at top comedy clubs as well as performing at some of the UK’s major music festivals. With a mischievous and positive style that will get any crowd to warm to his charm.

Ali Brice

Stand-up Comedian and NOFX superfan Ali Brice is heading up from London with his unique brand of finely tuned whimsy. A sincere, heartfelt and happy scomedian, expect silly stories, big questions, and jokes aplenty from a ridiculous man with a stupid moustache.

Rob Mulholland

This Yorkshire comedian has clocked up a huge amount of gigs all over the UK as well as in Holland & Norway and is now a regular feature in most of the UK’s well known comedy clubs.

Jenny Hart

Genderfluid musical comedy from one of UK’s funniest gag queens. Quickfire songs that combine her own brand of Trollopop with a sprinkle of Minchin and a dash of darkness to desensitise.

(No) Money in the Bank

Alternative comedy duo based in Leeds. Anderw Marsh and Thom Bee were brought to gether by their love of Punk Rock, Wrestling and Stand-Up Comedy. Expect the unexpected from a pair of prolific punk troubadours.

Katie Mitchell

Katie Mitchell is a working-class comic who grew up on a council estate and began comedy in sixth form in 2016, moving up the circuit quickly. She started breaking into paid work in 2019 when she was signed to Ingenious Fools talent agency just in time for the pandemic. She is alternative yet pervasive, revelling in main-stream comedy environments where her infectious, joyful and silly work is a delight on any line-up.

Alex Camp

Musical comedian who is effortlessly funny and endlessly absurd. Starting out in Tokyo, Japan with the renowned Stand Up Tokyo crew, opening for Aziz Ansari, Phil Wang, Lou Sanders, Neal Brennan and many more.

Jack Kelly

Founder of Manchester comedy institution: Laughienda. Jack Kelly is a sensational stand-up, writer and journalist. You may have heard his sketches on BBC Radio 4.

Justina Seselkaite
