Countdown to MPF: Kill The President Interview
It’s nearly time for Prince Albert and his merry band of Presidents to grace Manchester again. We couldn’t be more excited. Check out our interview with Kill The President below.
How would you introduce yourselves to a punk fan who’s not heard of you yet?
We’re a hardcore punk band from València, and we want to deliver a message which depicts reality materialised through the rage and severity captured in our melodies.
Which of your songs/releases are you most proud of, and why?
Each of us got a different preference over our songs, for instance, Alberto’s is Exhausted, Angel’s is Citizens, David’s is Parable of The Modern Cave and Felipe’s is Aftermath. However, each of them has its own interesting point and could be aligned to everyone’s tastes in the band. When we always create a song, we try to do it in the way in which everyone agrees with the outcome, the final result.
Tell us a secret about your band.
When on tour, Alberto and Felipe always sleep in the same room, they are the bastards with the loudest snoring on earth.
What was the first gig you ever went to?
Angel: MTV Winter 2008 at Valencia
David: a rock show at the Riff Venue in his hometown, 2005
Felipe: Lanzamiento HxC Bucaramanga, Colombia, 2009
Alberto: cannot remember
Who would be in your supergroup?
Drums: Graham Churchill
Bass: Joe Raposo
Guitar: Chris Hannah
Vocals: Tim Mcllrat
If you were a biscuit/cookie, what would you be and why?
Oreo cookie, because in this cookie we see ourselves represented, the black cookie part is the toughest and hardest side of the band and the cream could be the melody and technique highlighted in our music style.
Oasis or Blur?
Blur
Too much ska or too little ska?
Depending on the context
Dogs or Cats?
Dogs
Who’s your favorite superhero?
Spiderman and Prince Albert
Help us settle the age-old bread debate. What do you call a roll / cob / bap / barm / batch / muffin / other (specify)?
Just calling it “pan” would be way easier!
Finally, which bands are you most excited to see at MPF2024?
Thousand Oaks, A Wilhelm Scream, One Hidden Frame, Hike the Peak, Acid Snot.
