MPF WINS BEST SMALL FESTIVAL AT UK FESTIVAL AWARDS

Wow! This is absolutely ridiculous. We still can’t get over that MPF won Best Small Festival at the UK Festival Awards. A massive thanks to all who voted for us.

MPF started when a group of DIY punk fans formed a collective. We remain independent, non-sponsored and completely volunteer run.

We see punk as an ethos rather than a particular sound. The music we book is incredibly diverse. The bands, crowd and collective celebrate the community spirit that is so integral to the international DIY punk scene.

MPF is an opportunity for that scene to congregate in Manchester, a city with a rich musical heritage.

We are run across 7 independent city centre venues. We are all aware of how difficult it is for small venues to exist, so the opportunity to support them is huge. These spaces are a place for forward thinkers and creatives to share ideas and for communities to build. Their cultural value is enormous.

To see this recognised at a national awards blows our minds.
