CRAZY ARM

Est 2005. A spirited mess of punk, folk-roots, Americana, protest song and classic rock with a strong grass-roots, anti-fascist bent. Four albums on Xtra Mile: 'Born To Ruin' ('Stunning' 4/5 Kerrang), 'Union City Breath' ('A triumph' 9/10 Punktastic), 'The Southern Wild' ('A glorious surprise' 4/5 RNR) and 'Dark Hands, Thunderbolts' ('Staggeringly ambitious' 9/10 Classic Rock). Ten singles including a split with Frank Turner. Play stripped down acoustic shows when the mood takes them. Countless tours/festivals as headliners and with the likes of Against Me!, Frank Turner, Chuck Ragan, Muncie Girls, Restorations, Apologies I Have None and Larry & His Flask.

New album 'Dark Hands, Thunderbolts' was released in Jan 2021 and is a return to rowdy guitars, epic choruses and innovative Americana twang. This collection of songs finds the band in a reflective but no less indignant mood. It features the heaviest, the lightest and the most expansive songs that the band have recorded, with a strong cinematic influence at play, betraying their fondness for Ennio Morricone, Murder By Death and Constantines. Of course, their stock-in-trade – breathless punk rock riffola, mountain harmonies, syncopated rhythms, anthemic singalongs – are still very present and correct.
